- Your plantings, varieties, and growing plans
- Pots and beds you've created
- Tasks and reminders you've set
- Notes and observations

We collect basic usage information to improve Leaftide:
- Pages you visit
- Features you use
- Error logs and performance data
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain Leaftide's services
- Send you optional reminders and digests (if enabled)
- Calculate seasonal timelines and growing windows based on your approximate location
- Improve and optimize the service
- Respond to support requests
- Process payments (handled securely by our payment processor)
We will never sell your personal information to third parties.
Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information:
- All data is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections
- Passwords are encrypted using industry-standard methods
- Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only

Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate Leaftide:
- Stripe — Secure payment processing. We do not store your full card details.
- Hetzner — Server hosting in Germany (EU).
- Amazon SES — Email delivery for reminders and account notifications.
- PostHog — Product analytics, hosted in the EU. Loaded only with your consent.
- Sentry — Error tracking to help us fix bugs quickly. Runs server-side.
- Crisp — Customer support chat widget.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — Push notifications on mobile devices (opt-in only).
Cookies and tracking
Leaftide uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and provide core functionality. We use minimal analytics to understand how the service is used. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Export your garden data
- Opt out of optional email reminders

Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance — providing the service, managing your account, and processing payments

International data transfers
Our primary infrastructure is hosted in the EU (Germany). Some third-party services may transfer data to the United States, including Stripe (payments), Google (sign-in and advertising), and Firebase (push notifications). These transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain information.
Children's privacy
Leaftide is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
