How to Grow Stromanthe
Stromanthe sanguinea
Stromanthe Triostar is a stunning prayer plant relative with green, cream, and pink variegated leaves that reveal deep magenta-pink undersides when they fold up at night. It demands consistently moist (not soggy) soil, high humidity above 60%, and bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun which bleaches the variegation, and cold draughts which cause brown edges. Use filtered or rainwater as it is sensitive to minerals and chlorine in tap water. Not toxic to pets.

Care Requirements
Light
Bright indirect light, no direct sun
Needs bright filtered light to maintain variegation. Direct sun bleaches the colours and burns leaves. Too little light fades the pink markings.
Watering
Consistently moist, never soggy
Keep soil evenly moist but never waterlogged. Water when the top 2cm feels slightly dry. Use filtered or rainwater as it is sensitive to minerals and chlorine.
Fertilizing
Monthly balanced feed, spring and summer
Feed monthly with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser during spring and summer only. Avoid over-feeding which causes salt buildup and brown leaf tips.
Pruning
Remove damaged leaves only
Trim off brown or damaged leaves at the base. No other pruning needed. The plant maintains its own shape naturally.
