How to Grow Climbing Snapdragon
Maurandya barclayana
Sow under glass in late winter at 20°C, then pot on and harden off before planting out after the last frost. Give plants a trellis, canes, or netting to twine through and a warm, sheltered spot in full sun. Pinch out tips when young to encourage bushiness. Water regularly but avoid waterlogging. Feed every two weeks with a balanced liquid feed once established. Tubular snapdragon-like flowers in purple, pink, or white appear from midsummer through autumn.
When to Start
Start seeds indoors 10 weeks before your last frost date. Transplant outdoors once night temperatures stay above 10°C and soil has warmed to at least 12°C.
