How to Grow Beauty Bush
Kolkwitzia amabilis
Beauty Bush is a graceful arching deciduous shrub that puts on a spectacular show in late spring, with every branch smothered in small pink bell-shaped flowers with a yellow throat. It is one of the easiest and most reliable flowering shrubs — tolerant of most soils, sun or partial shade, and largely trouble-free. The key is timing the prune correctly — always immediately after flowering, never in autumn or winter. Left unpruned, it becomes large and twiggy; regular post-flowering renovation keeps it flowering freely.
